Apple Mobile Device Driver not In Device Manager

So I tried Everything , and my apple mobile device driver (or any apple driver) isn't showing up under my device manager. I'ts under my services but not under my device manager. This is causing neither of my iphones to sync with the computer. Please tell me if there is anyway to manually install the driver, since I followed apple's support for if it was missing, and it didn't work. My iphone(s) are not even being recognized as a camera or in recovery mode. I also re installed like 80 times(following apples way of completely re installing it) and the driver is still not in the device manager. It's not my usb either since I have 3 usb's and neither of my iphone's will still not appear as a device in the device manager.

    I consistently had this problem over the last year.  I eventually switched to an android phone so I didn't have to deal w/ itunes anymore.  However, my wife just got me an ipad so now I'm back to this issue again.  There was a procedure I used to do to remedy this and after searching for a half an hour, I haven't found it, but it jogged my memory enough to muddle through it.

    This procedure is if Apple Mobile Device Driver doesn't show up in Device Manager and your Apple device does not show up in itunes, but does show up in devices and printers.

    For windows 7:

    1. open devices and printers.
    2. Right mouse click Ipad (or iphone) icon and select properties.
    3. Select properties on the hardware tab.
    4. Select change settings.
    5. Select driver tab and click on update driver.
    6. Select browse my computer.
    7. Click browse button and find C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support folder.
    8. Click next and it'll install the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.

    After this, it should show up in itunes.  Unfortunately, I have to do this every time I want to sync to itunes.  Hopefully, this save someone else my grief.

    I have the same problem, but I find it is even worse: I deinstalled all Apple programs a suggested and reinstalled itunes with the new version. Surprise: You are unable to install "Apple Mobile device..". Follow exactly the installation process and you will see, that there is a rolling back after the istallation runs the part "apple device". There is no error, but you do not find under program/common files/ the heading Apple device. That´s the problem.

    I contacted Apple support for that, but after more then 5hours they could not solve the problem. It seems for me a windows7 issue.

    Hi, 

    I have been suffering through this for the last 11 months, with a 5 &windows 7 & have wasted weeks of my life trying different things that apple suggest & doing my own research until today when they said to reformat my whole computer which led me back into the research & I found your thread. I have been able to get it to work (show in my computer) by running a "fix" in Control Panel - Devices & Printers, but that is lost on the next restart of my computer, so then needs to be done again, but is preferable to reformatting.

    I am telling you this so that it might provide a work around for you should it happen again & for anyone else living the apple nightmare.
