Lockscreen issues on Windows 8.1

As mentioned earlier in this thread you don't need to create a new Onedrive account. Just remove the user from your pc and create it again. No need to unlink or create a new microsoft account.

And it sounds like when you "remove" the account, it left the files in place without removing them? So then you just own it with your new account and copy/move them?

well, when i did it, i created a new account but had the options to keep all my files. my everything from one-drive was there when i signed in with my Microsoft account. I talked with online help, and that's what she told me to do. it's the only thing that has worked for me. 

I created the new user account with a different name, and set it as an administrator account. I then went into the old account and just dragged my files to where i wanted them places in the new account. All my music and files on one drive automatically came over when i signed into iTunes and Microsoft. 

This is the only thing that worked for me...and I spent two months trying to solve it. I suggest talking to an online representative though.

I chose the same username again.

If I remember correctly the user folder got deleted. However the settings stored in your microsoft account are restored afterwards (if the synchronization of those settings has not been disabled).

Manually doing a backup of your user folder may work but I haven't done that.

I simply removed the user and created it again with the same name and microsoft account.

I shout because there's so much mis-information.

I am aware of and have tried ALL solutions that you can search for using BING and GOOGLE search engines. I have tried ALL steps listed by all of those posts. (as of 1/30/2015). (However I skipped the illegitimate ones.)

Scan for anti-virus? Yep, none found.

Licensed version of Windows? (Seriously asking?) Anyways.. yes....

Edited group policy? I don't have gpedit, however I did check into the registry affected by gpedit.

Know how to even work with lockscreen? Of course! I have 2 computers, 1 works perfectly.

Run "sfc /scannow"? Yes.. ran it.

Edit "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData"? Yes. I discourage others from trying because this is very destructive and didn't work anyways.

How about this site? "http://fixcomputerscreen.com/windows-8-lock-screen.php" - They make me nervous.... their file is a DOWNLOADER. IE8/9/10/11/12/... doesn't need a downloader. Neither do Firefox nor Chrome.

DISM? Tried it. Didn't work.

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Lock Screen"? I admit. This is new and most interesting. I tried it more than once. No. But I see some others tried this successfully...

It definitely required deleting/recreating the account.

I backed up my filed, and I put stuff into SkyDrive. I also assigned a database administrator (because I have a database).

Then I deleted account but kept files. Not sure keeping files does anything... it merely keeps the folder of the user.

I created new account using my OneDrive email address. The username is created automatically.

I'm taking the "Restore as needed" approach so that I don't spend all my time restoring things, but only the time I need to restore what I want when I want it. It's usually a few minutes at a time.

OneDrive synchrnoized stuff was restored. -- One thing to note, the RSS Feeds linked to Desktop wallpapers are a service no longer available. They are broken.

Lockscreen now works and is synchronized.
