Error Code 80073712 Windows update Win 8.1 x64

Ok so here are the system specs

After the last update and restart. I am unable to use Windows update.

I have tried the troubleshooting steps but the problem still exists.

SFC returns no problem at all.

Problem occurring for updates KB2936068 and KB2919355

Using their standalone installer isn't working either.

Hi Jaxx,

Microsoft has issued a fix for your error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2969339

After you install it, the rest of the updates should download automatically.

    Both of them are started and running. But i still stopped them and started them again manually. Still the same.

    As I read somewhere else this problem seems to affect those systems that upgraded to Windows 8 from Windows 7 which was my case. But I had done a reset so it shudnt affect my system. But still, looks like I'm going to have to do a clean install which I'm not too keen on especially coz I have some programs which I got from GAOTD and other giveaways which I won't be able to use after doing a clean install and yes I use them fairly regularly.

    I hope you haven't started down the road to reset your machine yet because I've just read on Infoworld that Microsoft will release a fix for the KB2919355 installation failure within the next few hours.

    Just returned from our place in Montauk and have read many of the emails. I haven't tried any of the new fixes yet (BITS, etc.) and haven't reset the PC. I am eagerly awaiting the "fix" from MS and hope that it works. Thank you very much for the heads up and all of your other emails, you seem like a very concerned user.
