Error Code 80073712 Windows update Win 8.1 x64

Ok so here are the system specs

After the last update and restart. I am unable to use Windows update.

I have tried the troubleshooting steps but the problem still exists.

SFC returns no problem at all.

Problem occurring for updates KB2936068 and KB2919355

Using their standalone installer isn't working either.

Hi Jaxx,

Microsoft has issued a fix for your error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2969339

After you install it, the rest of the updates should download automatically.

    Sorry for the omission but those WUA... files are in the Windows/System32 directory.

    Although my Win8.1update FINALLY installed on 5/6 with the new MS patch, I feel for those of you that still can't install this bungled update.

    FYI: All (or maybe most) of my dozen or so WUA (Windows Update Agent?) files now show either April 8 or 9 and May 6, 2014 dates (successful install date).  Somewhere in this thread, I had read that those files were also VERY important in addition to the KB...442 file and these changes were made by the patched Update file.

    Xircal, again I want to thank you for the friendly reminder about backing up now that all is well with my Windows. I had last done it several months ago and certainly now, it was more important than ever.

     /RestoreHealth still fails

    Try it with  /loglevel:4 and redirect to a /logpath:    Again, since I don't know how to read between the lines of any log I would be running with ProcMon to supplement whatever diagnostics you get.   And ProcMon doesn't just supplement diagnostics that you know about, it makes you aware of others that you haven't seen.  I would be particularly watchful for that phenomenon when using the debug level logging.  E.g. they might start squirreling things away all over the place, even if the new records in dism.log just look like clutter.   ; }

    Nothing revealing, points me at the CBS.log, which has no errors in it at all, not sure if there 's a way of upping the CBS logging level via DISM ?

    Looks like a reinstall/rebuild :-(

    Still, it does offer some respite by giving you another month to sort things out.

    And it would likewise give Microsoft another month to sort things out too.
