Error Code 80073712 Windows update Win 8.1 x64

Ok so here are the system specs

After the last update and restart. I am unable to use Windows update.

I have tried the troubleshooting steps but the problem still exists.

SFC returns no problem at all.

Problem occurring for updates KB2936068 and KB2919355

Using their standalone installer isn't working either.

Hi Jaxx,

Microsoft has issued a fix for your error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2969339

After you install it, the rest of the updates should download automatically.

    On page 2, you posted a screenshot of your DISM result which has error 0x800f0906. There's a fix for that on the following site which might be worth a try: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/repair-corrupt-windows-image-error-0x800f0906

    It doesn't seem to be a problem with the permissions. The update doesn't download more than 3% and then get the same error. Even tried the steps you mentioned.

    Hi Jaxx,

    First of all, I made a mistake regarding the forthcoming updates next week and there appear to be three Windows updates which are marked as "Important". No more info at the moment as to what they're for.

    As regards the data you posted, it looks as if Windows doesn't consider you to be an Administrator because the updates have been downloaded, but not installed.

    So let's try the following to see if it helps.

    1. Hit Windows key + R to take you to Run and then copy/paste the following and hit Enter: netplwiz
    2. In the menu which opens, double click the user (which should be you) and then in the next menu, click the "Group Membership" tab.
    3. Click the middle option to add yourself to the Administrators group. You should see the white cicle turn black in the middle.
    4. Click Apply/OK and then reboot.
    5. Next, go to Windows Update in Control Panel and see if there are any updates waiting to be installed. Go ahead with trying to install them if there are. If you don't see any, click the link to "Check for updates".
    6. If you see KB2919355 in the list by the way, you have to checkmark the box to select it and then click "Install". In that respect, it doesn't install automatically.
