Service registration is missing or corrupt

From recently I can't update windows and I ran MS Fix it Center and it shows that service registration is missing or corrupt.

how do I fix it so I can update my windows

I've tried this solution, as well as all the others provided, and none would work for me.  What I ended up doing was going to Microsoft, downloading the Windows 10 files to do a new install, and creating a DVD to reinstall Windows 10. 

The beauty of this procedure is that, with Windows 10, you don't have thirty or forty updates to do, after a new install, like with previous versions of Windows.

Now that I have a DVD with the Windows 10 media for a complete install, I'll do the same if I start experiencing update issues, again.

This is a correction to Method 2 - How to fix the Windows Update service problem:

FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

1.) MOVE MOUSE POINTER TO THE "WINDOWS START ICON." THIS LOCATION IS AT THE BOTTON LEFT CALL "TASKBAR"

2.) RIGHT-CLICK THE MOUSE FOR THE POP-UP MENU.

3.) SELECT "RUN"-THEN TYPE IN THE FOLLOWING COMMAND "MSCONFIG.EXE" THEN CLICK ON "OK"

4.) SELECT THE TOP Toolbars "BOOT," THEN UNDER "BOOT OPTION" SELECT THE OPTION "SAFE BOOT" FOLLOW BY "OK"

5.) RESTART YOUR "PC" FOR THE "SAFE MODE." by Selecting "OK"

6.) WHEN YOUR "PC" RESTART'S YOU WILL THEN BE LOGGING IN THE "SAFE MODE"

7.) RIGHT-CLICK ON "WINDOWS START ICON." THIS LOCATION IS AT THE BOTTON LEFT CALL "TASKBAR"

8.) LEFT-CLICK ON THE "COMMAND PROMPT (ADMIN)

9.) Type, each one of the following at the "COMMAND PROMPT"

    a.) NET STOP WUAUSERV press <return key>

    b.) NET STOP CRYPTSVC press <return key>

    c.) NET STOP BITS press <return key>

    d.) NET STOP MSISERVER press <return key>

    e.) REN C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    f.) REN C:\Windows\System32\Catroot2 Catroot2.old

10.) REPEAT STEPS 1-3

11.) SELECT THE TOP Toolbars UNDER "STARTUP SELECTION" SELECT "NORMAL STARTUP"

12.) SELECT THE TOP Toolbars "General," THEN UNDER "Startup Selection" SELECT THE OPTION "Normal startup"

13.) RESTART YOUR "PC" FOR THE "NORMAL MODE." by Selecting "OK"

14.) RIGHT-CLICK ON "WINDOWS START ICON." THIS LOCATION IS AT THE BOTTON LEFT CALL "TASKBAR"

15.) LEFT-CLICK ON THE "COMMAND PROMPT (ADMIN)

16.) Type, each one of the following at the "COMMAND PROMPT"

     a.) NET START WUAUSERV press <return key>

     b.) NET START CRYPTSVC press <return key>

17.) When this process is completed - close the "COMMAND PROMPT" by typing the following:

My service registration is missing or corrupted.  I keep signing in and I am recognised .....then I am asked to sign in again and it doesn't like my sign in or pass word.  One drive is on a tile on the start page with a file around the symbol within the tile which does not look right and I have 2 Notebooks which are clashing, one of which must be from the original purchase of Office Home and Student 2013. I cannot get rid of the first Notebook at all....Control Panel and Uninstall are sick of seeing me remove and reinstall all the time.  I am out of my depth now and my Surface Pro seems to be running slow. I really don't think that I am actually receiving updates either.....please help? I sent an email to OneDrive for help and it did not register through properly ....I am really stuck now?
