Original Title: Issue with Windows Store.

Every time I attempt the reset for the store (Store and other apps routinely crash after the Win 8.1 update).  I receive the below error message:

All device drivers are up-to-date (and have not changed since when it did work)

Anti-Virus is the same as it was when everything worked (Norton AV)

I launched a command prompt with administrative rights and ran "wsreset.exe".  The screen flashes over to the store, then crashes back to the start screen.  When returning to the desktop, the following error is found:

I ran system file checker, with administrative rights, and it reported back with no issues:

Windows for home | Previous Windows versions | Microsoft Store

I totally agree!  I had a Microsoft engineer remote control my pc, he tried everything and still couldn't fix the problem.  I've even tried repairing windows (the option which doesn't remove files etc) all I got was a message saying it couldn't do it, so pointless exercise.  I was told that my only option would be to reinstall windows.  Not going to happen, if I have to do that I'd rather put Windows 7 on instead of Windows 8, it's rubbish!!!

You guys are really pieces of work.  You bug us about upgrading to the 8.1 Operating System and the upgrade has caused a multitude of problems for me.  You really need to realize that most of us are not "Software Engineers".  I am soooooooooooooo sorry I upgraded to 8.1.  As the saying goes "Live and Learn".

Yes. I am referring to a windows 8.1 full system reset.

Restoring the computer to prior points in times did not remedy the issue.  Even more pathetic that the only changes made to the system (that would have broken it) were Microsoft's own updates.

Not all of us use the store or the apps on a daily basis and therefore it is impossible to identify the exact break point (it's not my job to verify and regression test my entire system after Microsoft releases a patch - that's MS's job).  After attempting 7 different restore points scattered throughout the past I gave up and performed a full system reset.

It's appalling that the solutions to something going wrong with a windows system seems to always be "just do a system reset / reinstall".

    Hi,

Are you referring to Windows 8.1 Reset option when you say "full system reset"?

I would suggest you to restore the computer to a point prior to this issue. Refer to the link to do so:

Refer to the section "Restore your PC to an earlier point in time"

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

Please let us know about the results.
