Original Title: Issue with Windows Store.

Every time I attempt the reset for the store (Store and other apps routinely crash after the Win 8.1 update).  I receive the below error message:

All device drivers are up-to-date (and have not changed since when it did work)

Anti-Virus is the same as it was when everything worked (Norton AV)

I launched a command prompt with administrative rights and ran "wsreset.exe".  The screen flashes over to the store, then crashes back to the start screen.  When returning to the desktop, the following error is found:

I ran system file checker, with administrative rights, and it reported back with no issues:

Yes, that's correct. This is because the next step is to use SetACL from within the System32 folder to run the next command. You can copy/paste that into the command prompt window.

I tried this but I don't understand what he means when he says "Place the SetACL.exe file toC:\Windows\System32" in step 4 - does this mean extract the file to that location?

I would not be so quick to blame Microsoft. Norton Products do not always play nice on Window 8.0/8.1. That is why I use nothing  I use nothing but Windows Defender and Malwarebytes free (not pro). Don't believe check out these forums I am hardly alone. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to Help you.

    nadia,

    See this site: http://m.kapilarya.com/fix-error-ms-windows-storepurgecaches-while-resetting-app-cache-in-windows-8-8-1

Thanks.  Unfortunately, this doesn't work either (tried it again just to be sure).  Microsoft Engineer spent hours and tried this and every other fix provided everywhere, ran all sorts of scans, fixes, changed user accounts.  Nothing worked :(
