How to fix Event Viewer ID 2002, 1017 & 3007?

Event ID 2002: If W3SVC is not available, HTTP performance counter data cannot be gathered.

Event ID 1017: This error might be caused by one of the following conditions:

• A non-Microsoft DLL caused the error.

• The list of counters is corrupt.

• The Remote Registry service is not running on a remote system.

• The File and Printer Sharing firewall exception is not enabled on a remote system running Windows Vista.

• The application is running as a user with insufficient privileges.

Event ID 3007: This may occur due to any corrupted Windows Search settings.

1. Nothing is particular, just seeing many errors in Event Viewer
2. I'm running the default Workgroup domain, it's my home network. Not office or organization.

I have gone through all the steps in all the articles but they didn't solve the issues.

And as time goes by, the errors pile up.

Thank you for the updates.

If you are not connected to any Work domain or not using any IIS (Windows Server), then you may try to perform a SFC scan on the computer which would scan for corrupt system files on the computer and replace them.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

SFC /SCANNOW didn't come up with anything...

Since the issue persists, let us try the following steps and check if it helps:

Method 1:

You may run the following DISM command from an elevated command prompt and see if the patch will install after you run the DISM command.

a. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then clickSearch.

b. Enter command prompt in the Search box.

c. In the list of results, swipe down on or right-click Command prompt, and then tap or clickRun as administrator.

In the Administrator Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press the Enter key after each command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Method 2:

If the system was working fine prior to the issue started, you may try performing a System restore and check for the issue.

a. Press Windows and R key to open run box.

b. Type rstrui and hit Enter.

c. Perform System restore to a restore point before yesterday and check if it helps.

Note: When you perform System Restore to restore the computer to previous state, programs and updates you installed are removed.
