Thanks! That's what I found as well, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something or looking at the incorrect version(s).
What does it matter if XP has been around for years. People like myself that only use XP in the home are happy with it. I can buy a new computer but, why when XP is really a good version . I think microsoft is what sucks. It's a money thing .
My sister's have windows 8 and they hate it. I tried one and it was so hard to get anything done
XP is 13 years old and doesn't have the security and performance enhancements that were developed for Vista, 7 and 8. It might be possible to retrofit XP with some of that, but likely not all.
And since Microsoft is a software company, they need to sell software to stay in business. So they're more interested in putting the improvements and support for new advancements in the new versions than the old. They don't make money from the free updates
You may think it's evil, but MS is made of people, with bills and mortgages and families to feed. And to do that Microsoft has to make money to pay them.
8 is a major change in the design, although I like it. Have you tried 7? It's closer to what you're used to than 8.
I want to know why mircosoft has taken away my option, on my computer for automatic updates. I want to turn them off and now I no longer have that option.
