Support for Windows XP is ending soon

Linux can do it, you say... There are also updates for Linux, But not so many in one time... And Linux can, like all other systems fall apart, so we have to reinstall it again and use days and night, getting it up and running again - and their updates can also make the system worthless - I have tried the Ubuntu, when XP expired, but I went screaming back to Windows!!

  IF Microsoft did it right in the first place, then you all would not NEED the constant updates for whatever version of Windows they may bring out NEW! Just as 2 + 2 will always be = 4, and with these stupid updates they are telling you all it is NOT! Same with Security updates we all keep getting. IF Linux can do it, so should Microsoft. IN other words, "Windows as I like XP, is DEAD from the start". It is like what we all use, as we try to make the best of it. it is not foolproof.  And if a PC is over ten years old, IT still works with its limitations with its installed OS for that time, and NOW, It is people that change, not the hardware. Of course when you buy a NEW PC, it is an empty PC shell, with ONE HDD and the minimum RAM and an obsolete Optical Drive that is slower than cold tar in Alaska in January, how do you expect to do what anyone wants to do with it if you do not upgrade the PC before you put the softeware IN it? Then you all wonder why it stinks worse than with good limberger cheese. It only works as good as the nut behind the Wheel. And a lot of you could be savvy enough to build your own PC yourself and programm it yourself to do exactly what you want it to do without having someone try to do it for you but is not really what you want. In the end you have to settle for a piece of garbage you call a PC. In all that process, you bet your pocket book and go in debt over a person's lack of knoledge they call themselves a techinal expert. Is like repairing a car, and the reparman wants you to pay for a transmission job when you need NEW spark plugs. So I repeat in being brain-lazy or dead:

  "A PC is as good aa golf club, in the hands of a pro, it does wonders, but in a hand of a amatuer, it is worthless."

  There is no excuse in being brain Lazy, it is all a matter of you al to learn that you all have been taken for a ride. Just like a child has to learn how to walk, if he fall down he gets up and tries again, all in the process of learning that eventually sticks inside your gray matter. Computing is an exact science, that is what it did a thousand times before, will do a thousand times more, Some of you get tired of that and devise different ways to do it. And then find out it wont work at all.

That hardware has aged too much. 512 MB RAM = 0.5 GB. Hardware which came with that specification likely has a poor processor, poor video adapter and is over a decade old.

The last decade has seen the most significant advances in computer hardware. You want a system that has realistically 2 GB of RAM as a minimum (4-16 GB recommended). If on a tight budget look for a second hand business system such as a Dell OptiPlex 780 or OptiPlex 760 which will come with a Windows 7 Professional OEM license eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 10.

xp is truly dead but what of the new OS windows 10 it handles like xp also it works like xp did microsoft learn by their mistakes and use the base of xp for the new operating system if so where we make mistakes we learn to make them better

running tech pre win 10 32bit using 512 ram runs like stink how did they do it until I get the full version I will never know

Take your computer to a computershop, and let  them install more RAM - then it will run MUCH better!!

(If you don't feel happy by installing RAM yourself, of course...)

The minimum requirement for RAM is 1 GB for Windows 10.

Actually, what I think he was saying was that is runs like **** off a shovel i.e. he is very pleased.

I suppose I'm no longer down with the kids. Still, using such language on an international forum is always bound to be misinterpreted.
