Support for Windows XP is ending soon

Windows 8 is not liked by the general public. Who's fault is that?

Uhhh that doesn't answer anything at all. I'm not expecting others to stay on XP nor would I stop anyone else from upgrading, as other have their free will, but if I don't need to shell out over $200 for a new system then I shouldn't be forced into buying one. It's not like MS will hire me or give me a job to buy a new lap top or are they?! I don't foresee unemployment insurance sending me an extra check to update my system.  I would just like an honest non biased opinion about whether or not what I asked is a viable option.  XP is stable and my lap top works.

What do you mean by "It's their fault for not making better software products"? They have been doing that.

There are far more Windows 7 users than Windows XP users.

Most XP users are not home users.

XP life is good, and am confident it will remain so, until I want to buy another computer. Maybe in 2 to 3 years.

I've switched to Avast, MBAM, CCleaner, Firefox, Thunderbird, VLC Media Player. Java is out of my computer, and I'll soon be using a different firewall. A few additonal changes/settings regarding security will be made.

**We should be good with XP right if we use a different friewall app like Zonealarm, a spybot cleaner, AVG antivirus software and use Firefox Mozilla with javascript/flash locked down?**It would be to visit trusted websites ie: aol, facebook, msn, etc. Got Office 2010 up to date and everything else is fine.

Don't see why Microsoft doesn't have an option to just pay $50 a year or something to keep things up to date. It's their fault for not making better software products that people wouldn't mind using. This just shows how far off they have gone in the consumer space of OS software.
