    I found one of the most powerfull OS, Ubuntu. Also it doesn't requires a very good PC. I have my PC when I was 2 and recently I instaled Ubuntu 13.3. My PC goes very fast and it doesn't any crash. It's very helpful for a person that his PC can't run Win8 or Win8.1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    If you feel Microsoft is "forcing" anything, that's your own weakness - especially give your plan to continue running Windows XP.  ;-)

    Boring?  I have yet to find an operating system exciting - after all, I, like most others, utilize applications that happen to work on a given OS or a few - the OS is just the foundation for the true work that goes on above it.
