Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard - Capital "C" not working.

Still here with the problem CeCeCeCeCe,

Maybe the stuck F2 key is a problem for some people, but let me assure everyone else, it is not for me.  I have four of these keyboards and they all have the problem. No F-keys are stuck.  THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT.  Microsoft sent me two new keyboards and they both had the same problem.

I love the keyboards and continue using them, but it is annoying.  I think fast typers will have this issue like myself.  To try it yourself, hold down the left shift key.  Now with your right hand, press C and E as fast as possible.

Notice some of the C's and E'sare lowercase.

Again as a programmer, I frequently type words that are all uppercase, and when I come across one with a "CE" in the middle, sometimes they dont turn out.

go back and perspicaciously check all the function keys - this is the design flaw, the function keys do not have enough material to prevent jamming if pressed at a critical angle. It happens with my keyboard frequently - if I leave something with some weight on the keyboard or place the keyboard upside-down on the desk or most frequently, after wiping the keyboard clean with micro fibre cloth.

If you have tried four keyboards on the same machine and the same key malfunction persists with all four keyboards, logic dictates that the problem is not with the keyboard.

Correct first time without any problem.

Microsoft have definitely got his product wrong - if and when a new design is released they should offer free upgrades to all their customers with this keyboard.

I can assure you that what Scott and I have told you is true - I meticulously checked every single key on the keyboard, even going so far as spending an hour or so to document every key combination of letters and function keys caused letters to appear uncapitalised (some of which I listed in my post, including the effects of holding each "F" key down to simulate a stuck key).

I don't dispute that there is a design fault leading to stuck keys, and that this is the cause of a lot of the frustration found on this and other sites.  I also don't dispute that this causes the issue described - that's one thing.  But I'm saying - at least in the keyboards I had - it's part of a much bigger issue, and it sounds like the 4 keyboards that Scott received are the same.  As I've already said, on both my keyboards I could reproduce this problem every time by doing the following: [Hold Shift]  >  [Press C]  >  [Press E]  >  [Release C]  > [Release E].  Not a single stuck key on the keyboard, I promise.

Another common element between Scott and me is that we're both programmers, perhaps it has to do with our programmer typing style?  Maybe it doesn't affect most users because they're not lazy typists like us, dragging our fingers?  My guess is that there are at least two versions of hardware internals and/or firmware, and Scott and I both received ones from bad (uh... worse?) batches.  But who knows.

Anyway, the point is moot for me, as I've already RMA'ed my keyboards as faulty.  I won't be ordering any more, and I'll be going with non-MS ergonomic keyboards for replacements.
