Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard - Capital "C" not working.

I have had this desktop set for about 4-6 months.

It works great. The only problem is that the letter "C" can not be capitalized with either the left or right shift key.

The only way that I can get a capital "C" is to use the CapsLock key, and then it will type a capital "C".

It does not appear to be a hardware issue, it almost acts like a software/firmware issue.

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit version.

I have switched this keyboard to a different computer with the same symptoms.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi,

I had the same problem.

Neither updating the software of removing the battery did work for me.

However, after a while I figured out that one of the function keys (F2) was tilted. I fixed that and now it works.

Actually you can reproduce the problem. Press down a function key and try typing. Everything works except for capital c.

Update: I did update the software but no change. Called Microsoft to get a replacement and had to pop the batteries out to get the product ID # to process the replacement. Would you believe once I did that and put them back in, it started working? Seriously, I used it all day with no issues.

    Almost 1.5 years since this post went up and it lives on.  I have a MS Sculpt and the F2 key was in fact stuck down.  This was the first post I read and the only one that I needed to fix my issue.  Thanks!

    For me, the C is still a problem.  But I can reproduce it all the time.  My F keys are not stuck.  I have tried it on three different sculpt keyboards (One just sent to me from MS for this problem) , and two different computers, latest software etc.  I am convinced it is a hardware problem.  

    For me to replicate it is easy.  If you have this keyboard, you should try too.  SIMPLY type the letters E then C while holding down the shift key.  Do it quickly like you are touch typing.  Here is my result:

    other words that will fail (As I typed them):

    Being a software programmer who is on his keyboard 24x7, I love this keyboard and the quickness and shape.  But lets hope I am not writing software that will program your pacemaker and the keyboard sends a 'c' instead of a 'C' that I typed.

    MS, can you please fix an otherwise perfect keyboard?

    This is getting closer to the problem. I am having very similar results to this. Although to a greater extent. I have noticed that the problem lies in the bottom left row of letters (Z, X, C, V, B). Whenever I hold down shift and press one of the other keys on the left in the top two rows, then immediately press a key on the bottom left (Ec, Az, Wx, etc) the second key is not shifted. I'm not sure if this is a firmware problem or a hardware problem, but it is truly annoying. I can use Shift + any of the bottom left keys individually, but rolling from one of the other keys to the bottom and shift fails. (Don't keyboards have a mesh of suction cups and sensors in a big sheet? Maybe simultaneous keypresses aren't registering correctly?).

    Also as someone earlier mentioned, my right-side space bar is very "spongy." Not sure if this is related.

    This is exactly what I'm seeing, I initially picked up on this while typing SELECT a lot (SELEcT). But on further investigation it seems to be an interaction between keys on the same vertical line. It only happens when using the 4 bottom left keys (Z,X,C,V) either before or after a character in the vertical line (A,WS,ED,RF respectively). You also have to be typing at a quick pace. Here are some examples, I was holding SHIFT throughout typing these lines:
