USB port malfunctioning, always says "USB Device not recognized"

Try running the Power Troubleshooter winkey + W > Troubleshooting > under system is improve power and maybe some more. But it will make you computer more efficient so it may change sleep times to shorter periods

I have those all over my event viewer. They are a power saving feature. Since you have a laptop it will be more frequent then a desktop. If you are still noticing a speed issue you may want to investigate it further but otherwise it isn't an issue in my opinion. I am guessing that is doing it on an idle timer during a sleep time or inactivity. If you put the PC to sleep and wake it up there will probably be one saying it changed the speed lower and one saying it moved it up.

You could change the power plan to high and it will stop but then you will just waste power and create heat.

After a little research I found SPTD error can be caused by alcohol 120 or other drive emulators. Try uninstalling it if you have it to see if it goes away

Can you right click the sptd Error in the first event log picture and right click it and copy > copt as text and paste it here.

BTW if you get an error and want to see all of the related errors you can right click and view all instances of that error.

Lol I have been wanting to break out in uncontrollable laughter over the last month with your issues. Not because I think you are funny but every time we fix something another issue is instantly there like the computer is tired of being used.

Good thing you didn't take it into a repair shop you would have though they were breaking everything. There is a way to remotely help out but not from there. Since this is a community and not an official MSFT support you never know who is on the other end.

The feature is found in Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from this computerbut I think it is against the community rules since they will block out email like this ******@blah.com

Did you look at the power for the USB port. I will look at these to see what I find in a few mins.

Actually this laptop is pretty much plugged into the charger 24-7, so I don't think that is the issue. Speaking of issues, I have another wonderful issue to share. Take a look:

First though I have is the USB port isn't giving off enough power. If you plug in the laptop and try does it work (I know its a long shot)?

To test that theory you can find a powered USB device and see if it works. Or, a USB cable that you can plug in to two ports, one for only power and one for power and data. These aren't common household items.

In device manager you can expand the USB controller tree then double click the USB root hub and select the power tab. This will tell you the power available and the power required. You will have to open them one at a time to find the one that has an unknown device. The device should be plugged in while you are doing this.

Yes, any device I plug into that port gives me the error. 

1. Other USB ports do work
2. The device works on other USB ports, just not this one
3. It is a mouse, no power cord
4. A mouse 
5. It is up to date

This isn't a problem with the device. It is the USB port.
