Determining Motheboard and properly updating BIOS?

I'm having trouble trying to determine exactly what motherboard I have and what BIOS update I need for it.  I have determined that my current configuration is:

FOXCONN 2AB1 Motherboard

AMD 785G Chipset

AMD SB700 Southbridge

American Megatrends Inc BIOS

Version 6.05 January 18th 2011

BTW I have a Windows 7 Ultimate HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC.

I don't really understand where to go to find the proper BIOS update, I have tried both the FOXCONN and AMI websites with no luck.  The HP website makes no sense, when I look at BIOS updates listed under my computer, two different ones are listed.  Neither of them sounds at all like my motherboard or current BIOS.  They are called H-RS880-UATX Motherboard BIOS Update and N-Alvorix-RS880 Motherboard BIOS Update.  How in the world do I know what BIOS update I need to install?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I feel like contacting HP to update my BIOS is a little bit of overkill, isn't their a reliable way to find the correct update online and do it yourself?

I suggested contacting HP support since determining what BIOS update is required has not been possible.

They should be able to point to which update is required for your computer.

    Glad your problem is resolved.

    In my experience, my computer is by far the slowest right after it starts up (when there is very little standby RAM).  If I keep my computer on for 30 minutes or more it becomes much faster, and at this time there is much more standby RAM.

    That could be just down to your anti-virus software scanning immediately after the boot completes.

    The only antivirus I allow to run at startup is Microsoft Security Essentials, I haven't seen any options for a post boot scan, is there a way to turn it on/off?

    Open Microsoft Security Essentials, click the Settings tab and check the box before Run a scheduled scan on my PC. Change When and Around selections to suit your requirements. Check the box before Start the Scheduled scan only when my PC is on but not in use.

    I think I have already changed these settings, but I will check when I get back from work.
