Determining Motheboard and properly updating BIOS?

I'm having trouble trying to determine exactly what motherboard I have and what BIOS update I need for it.  I have determined that my current configuration is:

FOXCONN 2AB1 Motherboard

AMD 785G Chipset

AMD SB700 Southbridge

American Megatrends Inc BIOS

Version 6.05 January 18th 2011

BTW I have a Windows 7 Ultimate HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC.

I don't really understand where to go to find the proper BIOS update, I have tried both the FOXCONN and AMI websites with no luck.  The HP website makes no sense, when I look at BIOS updates listed under my computer, two different ones are listed.  Neither of them sounds at all like my motherboard or current BIOS.  They are called H-RS880-UATX Motherboard BIOS Update and N-Alvorix-RS880 Motherboard BIOS Update.  How in the world do I know what BIOS update I need to install?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I feel like contacting HP to update my BIOS is a little bit of overkill, isn't their a reliable way to find the correct update online and do it yourself?

I suggested contacting HP support since determining what BIOS update is required has not been possible.

They should be able to point to which update is required for your computer.

    To identify what loads when you boot use Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).

    When my D-Link adapter was enabled my computer was for some reason ignoring ethernet connection and using wireless only.  This is a problem in itself, but I didn't care about it because disabling the adapter allowed me to use ethernet.  An ethernet connection for my computer is considerably faster than a wireless connection which is why I wanted to use ethernet.  Even running the adapter in the background while preventing it from accessing internet was annoying me because it was using up a little ram and processing power. For the purposes of troubleshooting I will re-enable the adapter for now.

    I am busy for the rest of today, so I will try to upload a new System Information File tomorrow as well as new windows event logs.
