I'm having trouble trying to determine exactly what motherboard I have and what BIOS update I need for it. I have determined that my current configuration is:
FOXCONN 2AB1 Motherboard
AMD 785G Chipset
AMD SB700 Southbridge
American Megatrends Inc BIOS
Version 6.05 January 18th 2011
BTW I have a Windows 7 Ultimate HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC.
I don't really understand where to go to find the proper BIOS update, I have tried both the FOXCONN and AMI websites with no luck. The HP website makes no sense, when I look at BIOS updates listed under my computer, two different ones are listed. Neither of them sounds at all like my motherboard or current BIOS. They are called H-RS880-UATX Motherboard BIOS Update and N-Alvorix-RS880 Motherboard BIOS Update. How in the world do I know what BIOS update I need to install?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I feel like contacting HP to update my BIOS is a little bit of overkill, isn't their a reliable way to find the correct update online and do it yourself?
I suggested contacting HP support since determining what BIOS update is required has not been possible.
They should be able to point to which update is required for your computer.
I would re-enable your D-Link adapter. What do you gain by disabling?
Please restart your computer, allow 1 hour for the system to run before uploading further information so that the impact of making changes can become apparent.
Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload to your OneDrive (formerly Sky Drive), share with everyone and post a link here. Reports in normal mode preferred. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode.
Please upload and share with everyone fresh copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer to your One Drive (formerly Sky Drive) and post a link here. You can remove the earlier copies of the logs from your OneDrive.
To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window expand Windows Logs and select System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files. Do not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.

I asked Gerry to take a look at your system information files. He is very meticulous about addressing the issues and errors and like he said, you should address those before thinking about the sata issue.
My D-Link adapter is disabled because I disabled it. I normally would use it for wireless internet, but my current configuration is with a direct ethernet cable, and my wireless adapter was defaulting over my ethernet cable so I disabled it. I don't see why it would be causing any problems. I am not going to uninstall it because I will need it in the future.
I uninstalled the JumpStart Wireless Filter Driver.
I viewed all devices in Device Manager, including hidden ones, and not a single one has a yellow question mark.
I ran the microsoft fix it.
I uninstalled the relevant HP programs that were causing the errors, didn't need them anyway. The reason they weren't starting properly is probably because I prevented them from running when the computer starts.
I would correct the errors I have pointed out before thinking about SATA/RAID drivers. These are real errors and may make looking for further updates unnecessary.
