Determining Motheboard and properly updating BIOS?

I'm having trouble trying to determine exactly what motherboard I have and what BIOS update I need for it.  I have determined that my current configuration is:

FOXCONN 2AB1 Motherboard

AMD 785G Chipset

AMD SB700 Southbridge

American Megatrends Inc BIOS

Version 6.05 January 18th 2011

BTW I have a Windows 7 Ultimate HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC.

I don't really understand where to go to find the proper BIOS update, I have tried both the FOXCONN and AMI websites with no luck.  The HP website makes no sense, when I look at BIOS updates listed under my computer, two different ones are listed.  Neither of them sounds at all like my motherboard or current BIOS.  They are called H-RS880-UATX Motherboard BIOS Update and N-Alvorix-RS880 Motherboard BIOS Update.  How in the world do I know what BIOS update I need to install?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I feel like contacting HP to update my BIOS is a little bit of overkill, isn't their a reliable way to find the correct update online and do it yourself?

I suggested contacting HP support since determining what BIOS update is required has not been possible.

They should be able to point to which update is required for your computer.

    So my computer has been working with the GTX 650 for a full week now, looks like switching out the motherboard solved the problem. 

    Thanks again for all the help along the way, although it took almost five months, eventually we pinpointed the problem!

    Alright, seems pretty complicated.

    Something to mention though:  In my experience, my computer is by far the slowest right after it starts up (when there is very little standby RAM).  If I keep my computer on for 30 minutes or more it becomes much faster, and at this time there is much more standby RAM.

    If this motherboard and GPU combination works fine for 4 or 5 more days I will go back to my 2 old posts about it and edit my questions to put in the answer of a new motherboard solving the problem.

    Lead3 has stated the position as it should be. The reality, in my view, can be different. The statement, that Windows will also relinquish the standby RAM, is where I have doubts. If it were always true, then why when you restart your computer do response times, which were sluggish with Standby large and Free hovering around Zero, immediately become more lively. As you have noticed if you use RAMMap to clear Standby the result is the same as if you had restarted your computer. It can only be assumed that memory is not always released from Standby.

    For years there has been an on-going debate about memory leaks. Originally there was a problem whereby 16 bit programmes did not release memory on a 32 bit system. Aside from that it has always been known that some programmes do not release memory as they should. Browsers tend to hold on to memory and Firefox is often quoted as an example.

    In the past users have devoted a lot of time trying to determine which programmes on their computer have a memory leak. The problem is that if you determine that one programme leaks what do you about it? You can complain to the software provider and publicise your findings. You may eventually get the bug fixed but it can take years. You can switch to an alternative only to find the replacement also leaks. Many users simply add RAM but that simply makes the time taken to hit the problem longer and it costs money. RAMMap does seem to offer a workaround that works. I say seem because I have only been testing this use for less than a week. However, the results look promising.

    ***What is bad about having too much standby RAM and not enough free RAM?***I do not have a technical understanding of the way RAM works. I can only say that it seems logical that where RAM has to be released and a programme is not releasing the tug of war that arises will cause time outs. A time out results in the computer not responding or freezing.
