Determining Motheboard and properly updating BIOS?

I'm having trouble trying to determine exactly what motherboard I have and what BIOS update I need for it.  I have determined that my current configuration is:

FOXCONN 2AB1 Motherboard

AMD 785G Chipset

AMD SB700 Southbridge

American Megatrends Inc BIOS

Version 6.05 January 18th 2011

BTW I have a Windows 7 Ultimate HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC.

I don't really understand where to go to find the proper BIOS update, I have tried both the FOXCONN and AMI websites with no luck.  The HP website makes no sense, when I look at BIOS updates listed under my computer, two different ones are listed.  Neither of them sounds at all like my motherboard or current BIOS.  They are called H-RS880-UATX Motherboard BIOS Update and N-Alvorix-RS880 Motherboard BIOS Update.  How in the world do I know what BIOS update I need to install?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I feel like contacting HP to update my BIOS is a little bit of overkill, isn't their a reliable way to find the correct update online and do it yourself?

I suggested contacting HP support since determining what BIOS update is required has not been possible.

They should be able to point to which update is required for your computer.

    If you read my full question, you would have seen that I have already been to the HP drivers page and that I do not know how to determine which BIOS update listed, of the two for my computer, is the right one.  This is my question, of how to determine which Update is the correct one for my motherboard.

    And yes, I have already used Speccy to determine my motherboard and current BIOS version as posted.

    My crash dumps have already been posted, and analyzed.  If you look in the thread that I gave Lead3 you can download the dump files as well as see the error report for them.  To save you some time, this is the error report from the dump file if you are interested:

    I posted this BIOS update question as a separate thread because my old thread regarding my GPU issue died.  My intent for this thread was simply to find out how to correctly update my BIOS.  If you want to try to help with the root problem, my GPU issues, please refer to the thread I gave Lead3.

    I have good reason to update my BIOS, I have had Problems with my GPU for months now and have narrowed it down to a couple things including my BIOS, or GPU PCI slot.

    In my opinion, unless there is something wrong with your computer that the manufacturer of the motherboard/computer indicates that a BIOS update will fix, a BIOS update is not necessary.

    Incorrectly done, a BIOS update can make your computer inoperable.

    What problem are you facing?

    You might try contacting HP support.
