bluetooth mouse keep on disconnecting in windows 8.1

After I updated my laptop from win 8.1 preview to win 8.1 pro. My bluetooth mouce keeps on disconnecting after a few minutes. 

I encountered this problem before after I upgraded from win 7 to win 8 pro.  I was told to uncheck the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the power management tab of the Bluetooth Module under the Bluetooth in the Device Manager.  This solved the problem.

After updating to win 8.1, I tried this solution again but the tab is not there anymore.  I found this tab on the Bluetooth HID Device and Bluetooth AVRCP Device under the Human Interface Devices.  I unchecked both but this didn't solve the problem.  I also tried deleting the old bluetooth drivers, installed the most updated driver available. There is still no Power Management tab in the Bluetooth Module.  I unchecked these both in the Bluetooth HID Device and Bluetooth AVRCP Device under the Human Interface Devices.  Still the problem persist.

Is there any other solution for this.

By the way my laptop is a ASUS K55V running tin win 8.1 pro w/ media center.

Finally found the option for Power Management under the Windows 8.1 Device Manager. The device is "Bluetooth Radio", under the Bluetooth section of Device Manager. Right-clicking on Bluetooth Radio, then click Properties, you will find a power management tab. On this tab, my problem was fixed by UNchecking the box that said "allow computer to turn off this device". AND, CHECKED the box that said "allow this device to wake up the computer" or something like that.

The important point above is that the device in Device Manager to be looked at is NOT under Network Adapters, even though there are some Bluetooth etc words under that topic of the Device Manager. The "Bluetooth Radio" device is under the Bluetooth section of Device Manager.

Anyway, after fiddling with the above two checkboxes, my Bluetooth mouse stays connected quite nicely under Windows 8.1.

The issue with disconnecting devices is power management, however, you may be looking in the wrong place for your power management setting if you have a bundled adapter.

I have just purchased a bluetooth mouse to use with my Windows 8.1 laptop.

After a few minutes of activity, the mouse just froze, even though in bluetooth settings it said the mouse was still connected.

I searched online and most answers were to check device manager and untick the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under the power management tab.

I did not have a power management tab in anything other than 'Human Interface Devices' > 'Bluetooth HID Device'.. So I unticked the the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and it has worked for me.

Updating drivers doesn't seem to solve anything concerning this issue.

I have a SONY VAIO T Ultrabook.

I bought a Bluetooth speaker Harman kardon and tried to connect by clicking the Bluetooth icon at the lower right corner of the screen.  When it showed connected, it showed Not Connected right away.  I just followed the step to uninstall 8.0.0.214 and then installed 8.0.0.230.  it works!!

Before I installed the driver, I was concerned if it had virus.  But it turned out clean and safe.

    IT WORKS - Same problem different hardware. Just purchased Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook Convertible i7 with Windows 8.1 and a MS Sculpt Comfort BT mouse. Read through all the posts. I followed the instructions to uncheck the setting for "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the HID tab ONLY for the MS Scuplt Comfort mouse. This worked fine for a little while then it turned off as usual. Investigated further and discovered that the USB Input Device item under the HID tab also had the same option for Power Management. I unchecked this option also and the mouse has been working for an extended period of time over 24 hours. Hoping this has solved the problem. Yes, I realize the mouse is BT and not USB, however it is working. One last thing - under the Bluetooth tab in Device Manager, the MS Scuplt Comfort Mouse item DOES NOT have "allow computer ......" UNCHECKED it remains checked. SUMMARY -  HID - MS Scuplt Comfort Mouse unchecked. HID - USB Input Device unchecked. Under the BLUETOOTH tab in Device Manager - Wireless Bluetooth(R) Power Management "allow computer........" checked. No guarantees it will work for you it is working perfectly for me.
