Just found that Flickr's Web Uploader DOES retain the metadata that you add within Photo Gallery so until the upload feature in Photo Gallery is fixed, I for one will be using this. It's nowhere near as friendly but it does mean that I don't have to type in descriptions and tags for all my photos all over again.
Photo Gallery not working with Flickr
Flickr has changed there API and I'm not able to use Windows Photo Gallery to load to there site anymore. I've talked to flickr and they say it's cuz of there new API and that Windows Photo Gallery has to update before it will work again. Anyone know what to do?

2014-07-03T11:49:12+00:00 Yeah, It's a issue with Photo Gallery and how it works with flickr's new API. So it doesn't matter if your using 8 or 7. It's Photo Gallery and flickr. I am sure there will be a fix soon cuz Microsoft is looking into the problem now.

2014-07-02T20:49:59+00:00 Hello all,
Just to let you know that I am having the same experience. I am a relatively new user of both Photo Gallery and Flickr. I guessed that, since I recently got Windows8, the Photo Gallery that came with it would be up to the newest standards. And that having a built-in Flickr upload-button would guarantee a smooth cooperation between the two. Unfortunately, I only used this VERY nice feature for just a few days when it suddenly wasn't working anymore. I surely hope you will be able to fix this soon!

Welcome to Win8 and flickr!! I'm a user of both and can tell you that it was flickr that did a update and kicked us Photo Gallery users off for the moment but Microsoft is working on the problem and I hope will have us back up and running again soon.
