Just found that Flickr's Web Uploader DOES retain the metadata that you add within Photo Gallery so until the upload feature in Photo Gallery is fixed, I for one will be using this. It's nowhere near as friendly but it does mean that I don't have to type in descriptions and tags for all my photos all over again.
Photo Gallery not working with Flickr
Flickr has changed there API and I'm not able to use Windows Photo Gallery to load to there site anymore. I've talked to flickr and they say it's cuz of there new API and that Windows Photo Gallery has to update before it will work again. Anyone know what to do?

2016-10-13T07:02:20+00:00 If Microsoft not gonna serve needs of Windows Photo Gallery users - other guys can do that!
There is Windows based application Phototheca(http://lunarship.com) which is the photo organizing software and it can do the bulk upload to Flickr with all metadata included. Enjoy!

2014-06-28T05:46:37+00:00 Have exactly same problem - yesterday I was happily using Photo Gallery to upload to Flickr, today Flickr keeps demanding I 'authenticate'. When I type the authentication code into the box it just keeps asking me to authenticate! Very frustrating

2014-06-28T05:53:48+00:00 Apparently this just started happening today, like it did to me. I think the floodgates are just beginning to open. I haven't found an answer yet, but I suggest we send Microsoft a request to provide a fix so we can continue using Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Live Photo Gallery to upload to Flickr.
