How to re-enable Bluetooth in PC Settings

I recently turned off my Bluetooth device by

1.       Opening PC Settings

2.       Selecting PC and devices and then Bluetooth.

3.       Changing the Manage Bluetooth devices switch to Off.

Now Bluetooth settings don’t even appear in PC Settings.  If I go to PC Settings, and then PC and devices, the Bluetooth settings have disappeared.

How can I turn my Bluetooth devices back on?

Hi,

This can happen if the Bluetooth device uses a Bluetooth 3.0 radio that is turned off by the manufacturer’s software.

If turning the Bluetooth device off causes your Bluetooth settings to disappear, follow these steps to re-enable your Bluetooth device:

1.     Open PC Settings

2.     Select Network, and then Airplane mode.

If your Bluetooth device was previously paired, there should be an Enable Bluetooth switch.  Switch it to On.

    After an hour of useless advice (including from the manufacturer), I simply went into my Device Manager and saw an issue with my bluetooth adapter. I tried updating it but was told the most up to date driver was already installed... so why the exclamation mark?

    • I disabled the driver...then re-enabled it. Done!

    Hi Guys,

    I have just been searching for my bluetooth on my 8.1 Acer and found that it is gone too.  My fix was really easy after much screwing around trying to follow Microsoft solutions.  

    I went into Control Panel then device manager. I dropped down the bluetooth tab to show "Bluetooth USB Module". Right click on this then click "Enable". Voila, my bluetooth is now back where it should be.

    Hope this helps those who may still be having issues.
