How to re-enable Bluetooth in PC Settings

I recently turned off my Bluetooth device by

1.       Opening PC Settings

2.       Selecting PC and devices and then Bluetooth.

3.       Changing the Manage Bluetooth devices switch to Off.

Now Bluetooth settings don’t even appear in PC Settings.  If I go to PC Settings, and then PC and devices, the Bluetooth settings have disappeared.

How can I turn my Bluetooth devices back on?

Hi,

This can happen if the Bluetooth device uses a Bluetooth 3.0 radio that is turned off by the manufacturer’s software.

If turning the Bluetooth device off causes your Bluetooth settings to disappear, follow these steps to re-enable your Bluetooth device:

1.     Open PC Settings

2.     Select Network, and then Airplane mode.

If your Bluetooth device was previously paired, there should be an Enable Bluetooth switch.  Switch it to On.

    WTF!!!  Just 3 days ago my mouse worked!  I am having the same problem as others above.  The link that you provide does NOTHING!!  I have a microsoft mouse but unable to find the driver for it on the website (just purchases BTW).  There is NO Bluetooth choice now under settings and when I try to turn on Bluetooth through the network tab is just goes straight back to off.  Please can you give me a step by step on how to reinstall my mouse bluetooth drivers.  I have the newest update with 8.1 and a Lenovo yoa laptop.

    Since I installed W8.1, my laptop's Bluetooth capabilities have been gone. I wish Microsoft had some sense in order to realize how upsetting it is to have any function of your computer permanently disabled without your permission. Whether someone use BT much or not is beyond the point. It should be there and only the owner should make the decision to eliminate it altogether. To make matters worse, there's no sign of a solution. Every six months or so I look up to see if something has been found to no avail. I've spent the last week looking all over the net. Nothing.  Furthermore, I can't find a BT button anywhere on W8.1, but If I type Bluetooth on the charm search, I find dozens of files. Equally, I've downloaded literally dozens of files from Qualcomm, Intel, and Samsung, my laptop's manufacturer, and what have you trying to make BT work and nothing.

    Please, please, please find a solution for the problems you created.

    Thank you for your response.

    What is the make and model of your computer?

    I would suggest you to install the Windows 8 Bluetooth drivers in compatibility modeand check.

    Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode.

    a. Download the Bluetooth drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

    b. Right-click on the driver and click on ‘properties’.

    c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down.

    d. Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.
