Great news!
Today we have started rolling out a new software update for the Nokia X2 Dual SIM (RM-1013) owners. This is a major/global release, bringing the phone software version to Nokia X Software Platform 2.1 (2.1.0.11/2.1.0.12/2.1.0.13), and will be available via OTA (Over-The-Air).
Key features of the update include:
By default your phone is set to automatically check for updates every 8 days and you will be notified when an update is available for download. You can also instantly check for updates by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and tapping Check Now.
The update package is 200+ MB, so for the best update experience we recommend that you use a Wi-Fi connection to download the update. Find the further update instructions from here.

no everything is installed i guess...becoz when i restarted the phone when it prompted it was showing " optimizing 15 of 39 (for example)" which means the installation was already over and it was only updating the existing apps..i guess the problem is with the UI toll (Nokia software recovery tool) which was showing wrong status..isnt it?
I have bought nokia x2 device 1week back. Official site says new 2.1version of software is out on air. But I am not getting the notification after repeated checking. How can I update my device?
Yeah it happened to me to but when the installation failed at 70 percent or in your case 50 percent...i disconnected it as it said and then i connected it again and installed it again only this time it installed to full 100 percent........
The thing is with 50 percent i dont think all the features were installed like the camera and all.....
Hi friends,
a strange thing happened to me..i updated to 2.1 with nokia software recovery tool. i connected my phone through USB and the tool detected my phone. Then i clicked on next button and it asked me to download the software which was around 900mb..it downloaded and i clicked on next...the installation started and at around 50% there was an error " software installation failed.Error code: you may try to recover or cancel. if you cancel your phone may stop working"
i clicked on recover and i was asked to do the following
i did it and when i pressed the power button it swtiched on and was showing " optimizing 15 of 30" (which means the installation was successful and it is optimizing the apps)
I checked the phone version and it now shows version 2.1
this is strange. i thought it would get bricked. Can someone tell me what has actually happened.
