Why my NOKIA X2 DUAL SIM is not getting software update ?
New software update for Nokia X2 Dual SIM: Nokia X Software Platform 2.1 (2.1.0.11/2.1.0.12/2.1.0.13)
Great news!
Today we have started rolling out a new software update for the Nokia X2 Dual SIM (RM-1013) owners. This is a major/global release, bringing the phone software version to Nokia X Software Platform 2.1 (2.1.0.11/2.1.0.12/2.1.0.13), and will be available via OTA (Over-The-Air).
Key features of the update include:
- Capture fast-moving objects with the new Smart Mode, and create unique photos by using the Action shot, Best shot, or Motion blur options.
- Make your phone more personal than ever with live wallpapers and new lock screen widgets.
- Keep your life synced with OneDrive and OneNote. Get up to 15 GB of personal storage space on OneDrive, and sync up to 500 notes to OneNote.
- Access your favorite Google services. You can now sync your Google contacts, and access your Gmail inbox.
- Find your way anywhere with HERE Maps - get turn-by-turn voice guidance with a free global navigation license. Requires additional HERE Maps update from Store.
- Updated Store - new design to help you find content more easily, and better integration with 3rd-party stores.
- Added local calendar support, call reject with a message, parental controls for Store, landscape support for mail and messaging, and auto-configuration of mail accounts.
By default your phone is set to automatically check for updates every 8 days and you will be notified when an update is available for download. You can also instantly check for updates by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and tapping Check Now.
The update package is 200+ MB, so for the best update experience we recommend that you use a Wi-Fi connection to download the update. Find the further update instructions from here.

Yes, Nokia Store has been now ramped down and replaced by Opera Store - this was announced already last year. See: http://www.microsoft.com/en-xm/mobile/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA144235
Have you tried installing WhatsApp from their own site? I have not tried very recently, but these steps haved worked the last time I tried:
- On your phone, go to settings> security and check the box in front of Unknown Sources
- Download the latest version of WhatsApp on your Nokia X device from here:http://www.whatsapp.com/android/current/WhatsApp.apk. Wait for the download to finish (you can check the download progress in the Fastlane by swiping right from the homescreen)
- When the download finishes, tap on the downloaded WhatsApp.apk file to begin the installation
- When installed, just open WhatsApp and complete the verification.
Additionally - on Nokia X phones you can install other app stores to the phone, if you are not able to find all the needed apps from Opera Store. For example 1mobile, Yandex...

2015-06-11T08:00:35+00:00 Hello world, I just bought Nokia X2 in India on 10th June 2015. When opening the store it asked to update it. I updated it (1.7 MB) and suddenly realised it is converted to Opera Mobile Store. Well, then I checked on interntet and found out that old Nokia Appstore is replaced by OMS. Well, thats alright but when I tried to search for some popular apps like Whatsapp or Hike, I couldn't find it there!!. And hence I cant even install whatsapp to my cell phone! And the annoying thing is that I can't install it from whatsapp official site either. Thus a smartphone without some basic apps.
So, my problem as the perspective of a new customer is that why theres no whatsapp in the "Opera Mobile Store"? If I was an arrogant customer, I would've already suggest my friends not to buy Nokia anymore because of these basic but serious blunders.
But I'm not. Please Help.
