Hi all,
I'm having an issue where if I restart the tablet it gets stuck between shutting down and starting up leaving me with a black screen. I usually then have to soft reset it by holding the power button down for 10 seconds after which it starts up as normal. It sometimes does this after a regular shut down or even sometimes after it's just been asleep. I have done several factory resets slowly installing windows updates, programs, everything I can think of to no avail. This is the third tablet (2 replacements) so I'm thinking it's not a hardware issue. Asus don't think it's a known problem and I've trawled the net but I haven't found many others having this issue. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have faced the same problem. But yesterday I tried to update Bios to last version (216) from http://support.asus.com.tw/. Asus Live Update in my T100 dosn't show this update, it is necessary to download it from web pages.
After Bios update everything looks OK, no problems after reboot or sleep.
I had the same problems. Here's what worked for me.
Try using the factory charger brick with the USB cord that you use for your phone. I find the factory cable that came with my T110 charges much more slowly (sometimes won't bring the battery to a full charge overnight!). Then ... patience, amigo ... you may as well wait a few hours til the little charging light goes white and you've got a full battery.
When you've got a full charge, press and hold the power button til the little light near the center of the top of the screen bezel (the black band surrounding the screen) blinks. It should come on then. (Same thing to turn it off - press and hold the power button til the light blinks.)
Update to Bios v. 304. It isn't perfect (the battery still drains when the tablet is in use plugged in!!), but other than that it seems to be okay. In particular, it seems to solve the "won't power on" issue.
I used to be a real ASUS fanboi, but let me tell you, the power issues with this machine have really taken the shine off the brand for me.
Is been on charge since 3am and is still amber light. I am using the om charger won't 3rd part cable. 😞
i am stuck... just received my unit, i did lots of updates. the last was bios 226.
And doest turn on. i have amber light on. if i hold the power for 4-5sec light go off and nothing.
I have try holding power for 5-15-15-20---- seconds and nothing.
power + esc. .... 5-10-15-20 seconds .. nothing power + volume up for 5-10-15-20 seconds and still nothing.
any ideas?
Battery may be too low to allow it to start. Plug it in to the factory USB power adapter for a while and try again.
The battery was over 60% before BIOS update. 😟 its been on charge since 3am last night. Still no joy.
