Hi all,
I'm having an issue where if I restart the tablet it gets stuck between shutting down and starting up leaving me with a black screen. I usually then have to soft reset it by holding the power button down for 10 seconds after which it starts up as normal. It sometimes does this after a regular shut down or even sometimes after it's just been asleep. I have done several factory resets slowly installing windows updates, programs, everything I can think of to no avail. This is the third tablet (2 replacements) so I'm thinking it's not a hardware issue. Asus don't think it's a known problem and I've trawled the net but I haven't found many others having this issue. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have faced the same problem. But yesterday I tried to update Bios to last version (216) from http://support.asus.com.tw/. Asus Live Update in my T100 dosn't show this update, it is necessary to download it from web pages.
After Bios update everything looks OK, no problems after reboot or sleep.
Bought a T100 three days ago on 2/16/2014. It had BIOS 220 installed. Charged it up, used it off and on, maybe four hours total. Closed the lid last night with probably 50% battery remaining. Today it wouldn't turn on. Plugged it in and after a while, got it to come on but battery was completely drained. So it never went to sleep? Pretty sure the screen was off.
ASUS has released three BIOS updates since 220:
1/7/2014: BIOS 223 Remove wake-up function of Windows key when lid closed
2/12/2014: BIOS 224 Shorten the system boot necessary charging time under low power
2/14/2014: BIOS 225 Shorten necessary charging time to reboot system under critical battery
Obviously they are still fighting with power issued. I've updated to 225. We'll see if that helps.

Mine has taken to switching itself off automatically after only a few minutes, even when I am actively using it
It's on the service.asus site now. I just downloaded it. Not quite sure how to get into the BIOS setup though...
Unpack the BIOS Zip to a known location - you'll get a binary image file for the EE-PROM. If you look in your Apps you'll see one called "WinFlash". Run that, point it to the binary file you've just unzipped, and it will do the rest - follow the prompts and be patient :-)
I also notice they have updated the Intel Chipset drivers for the Atom CPU on 3 Jan, and also updated the
ATKACPI driver which controls power functions (like Sleep mode). If you are experienced enough they are both recommended updates - note that you have to Uninstall the existing ATK driver using Control Panel before you can install the V1.0.0031 driver. The Chipset driver will install straight over the current one, then do a reboot.
My understanding (from the tech who fixed my T100) is that you can download the BIOS to a thumb drive, then connect the drive to the T100's USB port, then hold down the "Power" and " Esc" buttons at the same time. The startup screen will ask to be directed to the new BIOS, which, of course, is on the drive with the thumb drive.
