Hi all,
I'm having an issue where if I restart the tablet it gets stuck between shutting down and starting up leaving me with a black screen. I usually then have to soft reset it by holding the power button down for 10 seconds after which it starts up as normal. It sometimes does this after a regular shut down or even sometimes after it's just been asleep. I have done several factory resets slowly installing windows updates, programs, everything I can think of to no avail. This is the third tablet (2 replacements) so I'm thinking it's not a hardware issue. Asus don't think it's a known problem and I've trawled the net but I haven't found many others having this issue. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have faced the same problem. But yesterday I tried to update Bios to last version (216) from http://support.asus.com.tw/. Asus Live Update in my T100 dosn't show this update, it is necessary to download it from web pages.
After Bios update everything looks OK, no problems after reboot or sleep.
It worked!!! Last time this happened a year and a half ago, it was still under warranty. However, it cost me $35 to courier it to the Asus repair shop ... wish I'd known about this fix.
I don't know if this is your problem exactly but after multiple updates, it still occurs. To fix that, I hit ctrl, alt, delete. Then, it brought me up directly to my lock screen.

- Tricky as this time spread of the black void widens and then BOOM! WIll not reboot especially after loading 10 and this goes for all of the Windows 32 Bit 10 OSs and tablets. This is for tablet/notebook/2 on 1 split apart dah dah dah.
Once the black hole in the floor opens and sucks you deep into its bowels remember the old days and hop skotch bios heart attack loading and all those fun days.
- This method can take you 2-3 times to get it right. Power off leave for a few hours or overnight. Turn on and HOLD DOWN the ON /OFF Button and HOLD DOWN Up Volume. the black hold will open a little and offer you some options mainly getting to the operative interface ala settings and recovery in Windows 10. NOTE Most tablets, notebook/laptops are NOT set for recovery and MUST be done MANUALLY. Later on when you get in remember this and make sure you put that Micro Chip in that puppy NOW! It will save your life and not having to do this manaic crazy jail break.
You can try all of the options and in most cases end up with reloading the whole system BUT good news as it really just cleans up 10 and leaves a few other issues and updates to put up with BUT learn your lesson on this on... Simple fact most of these have how much RAM, ROM, SSD or Micro SD 32 GB You cannot leave the OS running enough free space and have recovery options SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you go in the where to place files and click on the D Micro SDCard and Set Recovery Options at 1-2GB.
- All these other spooks and their stick..... forget about..... get back to the OS Bios and Settings and work out of there and you will SUCCEED.... the GM@n strikes back against the empire.
- Same as 32/64 bit and yes Windows with Bing Win 8.1 is 32 Bit.
- If I am remembering correctly that means $$$ next year for the version but by then I am thinking with the use I have for the tablets and notebooks as nodes, camera security etc they will be dead......
