Updates KB2972216 and KB2894854 fail to install.

Hi there,

The subject, windows update fails to updates and KB2894854 and keep asking to them. What should I do?

Restoring from a 2 month old back up does not put your system in the clear. These things do not build up over night. You need to run Malwarebytes and ADW Cleaner on the restored system and upload log files on what has been removed. You can then see what further needs to be done.

I have managed to resolve the issue by myself! Yay!!!!

So, firstly, you was right.

After I rolled back to previous back up, it was fine except one thing - I still have Login delay :(((( , but I managed to install all updates (problem one included).

Suddenly, I realized one thing! The system backup that I was on has something different from the original system state, that is while I was using original system, I have deleted all folders and files in "Installer folder" (C:\Windows\Installer).

After realization of that, I was wondering: "What will happen if I just copy all folders from present system state(the one I rolled back on) to the last one(Original state)?" Good thing is before rollback to earlier backup I have made backup (sorry for tautology).

So, after 30 minutes, now I am using my original system. I copied all folders from earlier backup back to their original place(C:\Windows\Installer), restarted pc, started windows update and waited with my fingers crossed... Whola! KB2972216 and KB2894854 are successfully installed!

Also, I have installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and ADW Cleaner. Anti-Malware found nothing and ADW Cleaner Found a little bit. I wiped out almost all of it except Tencent folder (it is where QQ is a Chinese messenger, I need it) and something other folders.

After that I restart my computer again and... Well, it seems that the last problem for me is Login delay.

I will be very appreciated if you can help me resolve it.

Hey Gerry,

Have you managed to download files that I shared on yadi.sk ?

I am really sorry, but OneDrive, Google drive and Dropbox is not available in China, where I am now. If you have problems with downloading from yadi.sk I can try to upload them on Mega.co.nz (aka megashare).

BTW, as I mentioned previously, now, when I login to windows for the first time, it takes too much time, it goes like Login screen - Automatic (I have Lenovo X220 with Fingerprint reader and use "Use Fingerprint and instead of power on button and hdd password" option) - Blank screen for 13 sec approximately (no wallpaper either).

And every time I restart or power off my notebook the system says it installing updates, very strange behavior.

Please, help.

Restore ALL CCleaner & JV6 Power Tools backups, reboot & see if KB2972216 and/or KB2894854 will successfully install now. [1]

1. No, the problem with Turn Windows features on or off is solved.
2. I do not know be cause I turned IE off through "Turn Windows features on or off" right after the first problem was solved, do not use it anyway. I use Firefox.
3. Yep, I have such habit, I am using CCleaner and JV16 Power tools sometimes. And make backup before deleting keys. Here is the last backup https://yadi.sk/d/7J4l-dtTbVUPG (!!! but I should mention that the problems begin to occur month later, so probably it has nothing with registry cleaning)
