Windows 8.1 BSOD: netwlv64.sys

I also had an Intel 4965AGN wireless card and only solved it by buying and installing a new internal wireless card.  Before installing the new card I uninstalled the drivers for the Intel Card via Open Network and Sharing Center ... Change Adapter Settings ...  right click on wireless card .. Select Properties ...  Configure ....  Go to Driver Tab   ... Select Uninstall  ---- To uninstall the driver (Advanced)

Then I powered down and replaced the card as described below.

On Lenovo ThinkPad T61, it worked great on Windows 7 and 8. But on 8.1 I kept getting the dreaded blue screen of death. It turns out there is an issue with the built in wireless card from Intel, namely the 4965AGN network adapter. I spent hours changing out drivers, using new ones, old ones, from both intel, lenovo and microsoft.  I installed different types of Intel software.  I even disabled the "n" setting in the a/b/n networking. I still kept getting (with no warning) a blue screen of death. Sometimes several times a day, sometimes once every 3 or 4 days. Once I read this post I decided to buy a different internal wireless card.  . So I bought this $10 card from ebay IBM Atheros AR5BXB72 ar5008 42t0825 T61 X61 T61p card, I took apart my laptop (kind of fun, instructions on lenovo's web site were perfect), and put the new card in. And whallllaa, no blue screen of death.   Here are the two links, 1 for the ebay purchase

How did the Atheros card work out; if you continued to use the T61?  Did you just use the driver that Windows supplied or did you use Lenovos of Atheros?  I have an R61 with the same 4965AGN card.

I had the same issue on my old Laptop HP 9xxxx.

Strange enaugh, the problem appeared only after one month I installed Windows 8.1 from scratch.

I noticed the issue disappearing when not using the wireless, although the driver was still loaded.

I tried to install the latest Windows 8.1 driver from here: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wtech/proset-ws/sb/CS-034038.htm but the device manager keep showing the "old" Microsoft one.

Eventually I installed the Windows 7 64 bit one (14.3.1): http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail\_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21049

Now device manager shows the new version. So far so good, the problem seems gone.

Ditto.  Hopeless BSOD nightmare since upgrading to W8.1.  Always thought the BSOD thing was overplayed in my 25 years of Windows loyalty.  This is getting terminal.
