Thanks Adriaan - I have changed the registry setting and rebooting seems to help.
"Your computer is low on memory" when its clearly not
This problem started when i upgraded from windows 8 to windows 8.1
When i run a game, for example, Arma3 randomly throughout my game i'll be thrown back to windows desktop and presented with a message saying "Your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs: 'Game name here'"
Screenshot Here
As you can see from the above screenshot i have 2.6gb in use and 5.3 free, so why does it think its out of memory?
I have set my pagefile from "system managed" to 16gb initial - 24gb max
This made no difference whatsoever..
My hardware has not changed, Like i said i noticed this almost instantly after upgrading to 8.1
Any help would be appreciated because as far as i'm aware theres no way to revert back to 8 from 8.1?
Thanks

| Your computer is low on memory. Save your files and |

And the "Java(TM) Platform SE binary" is MindCrack(Minecraft) running and it's only have 3GB of ram I gave from the 4GB I have of ram. I log-on my server and lag because it's loading chunks(Normal Behavior) and then I walk around[In-game] and open my inventory and look what I can make with thaumcraft, . .. ... ok, I know what I want to make i'm in the process of making a new basic Wand and WINDOWS 8 CLOSED MINDCRACK(MINECRAFT)!!!!!!

2014-08-09T20:17:13+00:00 Same problem here, mostly when running games and only since Windows 8.1
But Microsoft will never admit on forums that there's something wrong with their system or its default settings, and therefore, you'll never get an actual fix or even acknowledgement that they're looking into it, until Microsoft finally made a KB for it.
Theoretically, Windows should NEVER run out of memory till your hard drive is filled up and can't page anymore. :P
Aside from that, all RAM is never even used, when this message pops up.
To suggest a memory leak would only make sense if the RAM footprint of the software/game you're running keeps increasing, eventually causing that message. But that's not the case, there's still plenty of RAM available and the memory footprint shows no unusual growth.
Oh Microsoft, when will you grow up and get out of denial mode for any issue brought up. Sure, there's beginners and explaining the basics and pointing out standard trouble shooting procedures related to the reported issue makes sense. But don't stop there, especially when the OP was fairly specific and had already excluded the possibility of what the moderator's answer was suggesting.
Nadella's plan to put engineers on support for one day a month is certainly a good idea. I hope this includes this forum that is so lacking for good answers in so many cases.
