I have same problem, but I failed to refresh PC. It said No Change Made, then Windows try to find solution, then suddenly disappear without trace. No solution has been generated. I am very confused.

I used "Create a Recovery Drive" to create a bootable CD (though you can do a USB, too), and then used my (downloaded) ISO of Windows 8 during the subsequent Refresh. That bypassed similar issues that I had with Refresh direct from within Windows 8, which complained about being incapable of doing anything.
I'm now pretty sure that all my updates are failing for the same reason, but want to complete the job today before I post everything.
Anyone watching, please take a look at:
- From Start screen, type "View Event" and open "View Event Logs"
- Expand Windows Logs --> System
- Click Filter Current Log
- Check the "Error" check box and, under Sources, tick "Windows Update Client"
- Click on any of the entries, to see what Error code has been recorded
I get the same one over and over again for all the updates that fail to install and wonder if you all get the same. That may help MS a bit. (Incidentally, I can't find any solution out there for my error code...)
