How to install Apps in SD Card in Windows 8.1 ?

May I know whether is there any way to enable us to install windows store apps into the micro SD card, since my 16GB Dell Tablet is running out of memory. I am using Windows 8.1 (Not RT) ?

Hi Yaman,

By default Windows Store apps will be saved in the following location.

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

Hence, it is not possible to move Windows Store apps to SD card.

I would suggest you to delete the unnecessary files from the computer and check if it improves in memory.

You may also get in touch with the manufacturer to increase the memory.

    It looks like we'll have it in Windows 10, but, it's not there yet.

    You can select a different storage location for everything except Apps and Games on build 9926. The option is on the list so hopefully it'll become available for external storage and not just internal hard drives.

    This answer works great, if you are using a desktop, or even a laptop.

    Unfortunately, it doesn't really apply to a tablet. Windows Phone 8.1 has this capability and it is AWESOME! WP8.1 also has a Swype alternative which annihilates Swipe, but I'm getting off topic.

    I'll update this post once I figure out a registry hack. 😊
