Multiple errors in Event Viewer: EventID 131 from DeviceSetupManager since September 12, 2014

thank you for your informative information on how to modify this url:  however, I do feel this is a server  issue and as stated already Microsoft may fix their server when they realise what a mess they have created.  I am going to sit back and wait for a few days I think.

I have already invested many hours since Thursday and I was working on restoring a Laptop and reinstalling the OS from last Tuesday I know for certain this issue started on Thursday after 5pm.

No windows updates have been performed on this Laptop so it was not the windows updates issued on 09/09/14.  The Link to the Windows 7 forum states this may be an underlying factor but I know for certain it is not. 

It is doing this on all my Laptops and none of them had any updates performed since August, no hardware changes, noting.

I feel changing the system not to automatically install drivers as indicated again the link to the Windows Forum or changing the url:  is merely masking an issue with the windows server.

Hope some of you agree with me.

I do wonder if there will be any official acknowledgement by Microsoft or a fix.

We can all manually change the registry key but since the issue is most likely global then a fix should also be global.

You can also make a backup copy of the registry key you are going to modify.

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps. If you aren't logged in as an administrator, you can only change settings that apply to your user account.

Before you make changes to a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy, of the key or subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location you specify, such as a folder on your hard disk or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to undo, you can import the backup copy.

1. Open the Registry Editor by clicking the Start button , typing regedit into the search box, and then pressing Enter.‌  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. Locate and click the key or subkey that you want to back up.
3. Click the File menu, and then click Export.
4. In the Save in box, select the location where you want to save the backup copy to, and then type a name for the backup file in the File name box.
5. Click Save
