Error Code Ox80070057

I am running XP SP3, and when I go to the Windows update site and check for express updates, the green progress bard starts and just keeps going with no end result. I downloaded the Fixit Tool and it quoted the error code as above. How can I rectify this please?

    I have got solution by changing Hard disk and Motherboard CMOS Reset.....

    IMPORTANT! => WinXP computers should NOT be connected to the internet or any other computers. All business and personal data (e.g., online banking & credit-card passwords) should be considered at-risk, if not already compromised.
