I shall assume that you did NOT download/run the McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool & reboot BEFORE you installed MSE. That being said, I need more info about your computer before I can suggest a fix:

    1. Is IE9 or IE10 installed?
    2. Is Firefox, Chrome or any other alternate browser installed?
    3. Are you in the habit of using "Registry cleaners" (e.g., Registry Mechanic; System Mechanic; RegCure; RegClean Pro; Advanced SystemCare; Registry Booster; McAfee QuickClean; AVG PC TuneUp; Norton Registry Cleaner; PCTools Optimiser; SpeedUpMyPC; PC Doctor; TuneUp Utilities; WinMaximizer; WinSweeper; Comodo System Cleaner; Advanced System Optimizer; CCleaner Registry Cleaner)?

    Where is Microsoft with this????

This is not an official Microsoft Support forum, it's a peer-to-peer support Community forum.

For home users running Win7 SP1 & Win8 (only), no-charge support for security updates (only) is available by calling 1-800-MICROSOFT (1-800-642-7676) in the US or 877-568-2495 in Canada. [1]

Three Win 7's - this am installed updates in the first one (win 7 pro x64 sp1) - KB2862330 did not install

had to restart and remove update.

    1:00 pm - started 2nd win 7 pro x64 sp1 - check for updates - KB2862330 wasn't listed!

1:30 pm - started 3rd win 7 home premium x32 (this was set to auto updates) - showed 15 updates, pressed the check for updates button and now listed 14 - KB2862330 not listed.

Did MS remove the offending update?
