    ok I have been messing with this update long enough around Jan 15,2014 I received this through automatic updates. KB2862330 it stalls out when configuring at 32% and crashes/dumps my dell inspiron 1545 with dual 32/64 bit windows 7 system. All other updates loaded fine just this last one is a pain. I receive error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on the dump screen and when I go back in where it says it failed it has 0X80070057. I have finally turned windows automatic updates OFF ...Please Help!

    Don't disable automatic updates 100%. Ever. Hide a problem update: even better, make it work. There is some good advice on this thread: read it, or wait for someone else to respond to you.

    I also had several issues with this hotfix causing bsods on a W7/sp1/Ent 32bit version on a Dell Inspiron.

    I finally got it to install via the following steps that someone else recommended in this thread-

    1. Removed any USB connected devices - only external was a bluetooth mouse receiver.
    2. Booted into Safe Mode -> Disabled (but not uninstalled) integrated webcam from Device Manager, disabled and then uninstalled the USB Enhanced Host Controllers.
    3. Rebooted into Windows. Installed hotfix. Rebooted.
    4. Windows reinstalled the devices and things seem stable.

    A moderator should post the correct Answer at the top of this thread:

    Disable (using the Device Manager or Autoruns) or Unplug all USB devices before installing KB2862330 and the update should install successfully (note: PC may re-boot by itself two times before KB2862330 is finished installing).  After KB2862330 is installed, re-enable or Plug back in the USB devices.

    That's it.  Problem solved.

    Me personally, I preferred to disable and re-enable the USB devices using Autoruns instead of going nuts on my hands and knees pulling out my PC and unplugging and re-plugging the cables of all my USB devices from the back of my PC (I have 6 plus the VMware USB Driver). Autoruns worked for me. Others have used the device manager to get the job done successfully.
