I don't want to argue with your or Bear. I'm just a bit confused. This thread is 17 pages long and several people have entered it with the same problem as me. To point, the subject line:
KD2862330 Fails to Install.
That is what happened to me the morning of 7 November. Bear came in a few hours ago stating that KB2862330 isn't a part of Windows Update. Well it is, or was at 3:00 A.M. 7 November, because that is when it attempted to install and if failed repeatedly
over and over again until 7:00 a.m.

Yes. That is how I finally got it to install in the first place. Since then I had to restore the PC from a image and now I've tried those same steps over and over again. Sure the update installs, but when I turn the USB controller back on the installing
devices icon starts swirling and the PC crashes.
Without the update everything is fine. With it the PC crashes. I think that is relevant to the subject. If a moderator disagrees then of course the can delete all of my posts in this thread or move them to a new thread.
