You mention that you can see Defraggler in Program Files. Check to see whether you can also see a file called "uninst000.exe" or possibly just "uninstall.exe".

Either of those should uninstall it for you.

I was wondering if you'd like to volunteer to run the Fixit uninstaller so that you might be able to determine what that "Product Code" which Shopper mentioned is all about?

I can't run it on 8.1 because it's not supported. But I ran it on XP back in the days when I was using that but never saw any mention or request for a "Product Code".

I do not even recall installing this software (I use the built-in XP Defrag) so I was surprised to even see it listed when I checked the 'Program Files' directory the other day.

On the http://www.pcsgo.com/how-to-uninstall-defraggler-step-by-step-guide-to-remove-unwanted-program-completely/ website, it states that Defraggler is a fake anti-virus program.

However, on the http://www.piriform.com/defraggler official Piriform website, it states that it is a legitimate piece of software similar to XP's built-in Defragmenter.

I opened the Defraggler that I have and it looks like Defragmenter. I clicked 'About' and it states Piriform Defraggler 2.14 so I assume that it is a legitimate piece of software.

I am thoroughly confused though-Are 'Piriform Defraggler' and 'Defraggler' two different programs with simila-sound names?

Is the Pirform Defraller 2.14 that I have a 'regular' piece of software like Defragmenter and the other 'Defraggler is a 'fake' malware program that can wreck havoc?
