Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    I had this problem with 8.1, and again with Win10. The last couple of weeks it's been terrible, with WiFi coming and going all the time while, other devices are connecting just fine.  Drivers are all updated. (For some reason I couldn't find the combination of my model and Win10 on the Acer website, but some research showed my driver version was new enough.) I also found and changed the setting to prevent it being shut down to save power, that didn't do much either.

    Today, with a little help, I ran MSconfig and disabled pretty much everything that's not Microsoft, and that seems to have helped. It also made my Acer Aspire start up almost as fast as it used to do before Win10!

    I suppose you could be a bit more sophisticated and figure out exactly what processes are interfering with each other, but so far this blunt method seems to have done the trick!

    Ok, so then I couldn't connect the printer (USB2.0), and the WiFi dropped one more time, so maybe I spoke too soon. I had to go and enable everyting again (still couldn't be bothered with the details). I kept the startup processes disabled though (a second step I didn't mention above) so at least the startup is still faster. And the disconnections seem fewer and shorter, but that could just be a coincidence.

    Help!! I'm currently having the same issue. I tried everything, but nothing worked...

    I'm using:

    Asus A455L

    Windows 8.1

    Intel Core i3-4005U

    Any suggestions??
