Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

I would reset

NETSH INT TCP SET HEURISTICS DISABLED

NETSH INT TCP SET GLOBAL AUTOTUNINGLEVEL=DISABLED

NETSH INT TCP SET GLOBAL RSS=ENABLED

to the defaults and see if it breaks the fix. Those will slow the connection to the internet down and the ability for the CPU to process the info it gets through the TCP ports. I think RSS enabled is a default since VIsta SP1.

The first and last commands are good to fix the network. They arec ommonly broken because of anti-malware such as Norton, Mcafee . Windows defender is much better.

That list would be good if you have a router that was built before 2004 or so and didn't have the ability to support auto tunneling. Disabling the setting makes the make receive window 64KB which will slow your internet connection for a particular transaction by around 10x or much more

It may solve the underlying issues you are having that are making it so those features don't work.

BTW the parts of the windows 8 OS that run that haven't changed since Windows 7 so if windows 7 works on your network without those settings changed windows 8 should too. It must be anti-virus software. Even disabled anti-virus software that was removed can cause issues because they leave their drivers attached to the network behind or the settings they changed are left and the driver is gone.

To all you guys with troubled with the N-6235/6250 wi fi problem, 

Go to device manager, scroll to the network adapter, you should find 2 devices:

>your card

>hyper v network somethingsomething

Disable hyper V network, restart your network adapter and now you should be good. Been two days since this and my connection didn't dropped once.

Microsoft I can't even begin to say how much I'm mad at you because I don't know what happened to your softwares but you are really upsetting me a lot. My connection was a pain in the **** for two months untile I (not you, not your helpers) found this solution that, guess what, it's caused by your systems.

That's unbelievable.

Hahaha.. Nice one but I am still using Win 8.1 Pro and suffering like Hell. MS please give us a fix. Every One's Router in Different Countries cant go wrong at same time and that too after 8.1 Release.
