Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    Hi. I believe I found a solution for my Qualcomm Wireless-N 1202 Network Adapter.

    1. Click on the battery icon in the right-bottom corner, and select "More power options".
    2. Select "High performance" box.
    3. Click on the "Change plan settings" next to the "High performance".
    4. Click on the "Change advanced power settings".
    5. Find "Wireless Adapter Settings", and change both "On battery" and "Plugged in" to: Low Power Saving, NOT Maximum Performance.
    6. Click on the "OK" / "Apply" button to save changes.
    7. Reboot computer.

    I have had this problem since I changed my router to D-Link DWR-116. I thought it's a router's problem, I tried everything in the router configuration, restored factory settings, etc. Unfortunately nothing helped. When I was connecting to my old router - everything worked fine. After computer restart my Wi-Fi connection was always "Limited", I was unable to enter router's administrator panel (192.168.2.1). Usually after router reboot everything worked fine... until next computer restart.

    For now it's fine for already 5 days, and I hope it will be like this forever.

    EDIT: Nope, it didn't fix the problem. I later bought a new router.

    I have downloaded new intel drivers as well, hope that it works. I have changed my wifi router and have the same problem - limited wifi and no internet since i installed windows 8 on my lenovo laptop.

    Actually, I found a solution to this problem. I have never encountered this problem since I did this (2 Weeks). Before that I had en countered this problem a couple of times in a day. My wifi driver is Intel 7260-N

    1. Plug your ethernet cable and disable your wi-fi. DO NOT OPEN YOUR WIFI ADAPTER ON YOUR COMPUTER UNLESS EVERYTHING HAS FINISHED!
    2. Download your latest wifi driver from downloadcenter.intel.com
    3. (This is the most important part) Uninstall your old wifi driver, but if you just install it once it wont unistalled completely because windows will use previous drivers that you installed before even you install the new ones. So Click uninstall again and again, until you see only one microsoft wifi driver and one intel driver (windows won't let you to uninstall these two).
    4. Restart your computer (AGAIN, DON'T ENABLE YOUR WIFI ADAPTER!! IF YOU ENABLE IT WINDOWS WILL AUTOMATICALLY USE THE OLD ONES!)
    5. After restart, install the driver that you downloaded. After the install process, open device manager, network adapters, right click intel wireless-n 7260 and click properties, click advanced tab and make u-apsd support disable and also ht mode disable. Click OK.
    6. Restart your computer.

    I hope it works.

    After trying numerous "fixes" from everyone else and having my wifi box replaced, I found the culprit in my house. My issue is caused when I turn on the baby monitor in my home. Turn it off, no problems. My question now is why did the baby monitor never interfere with any of my computers until I bought my Lenovo All in One touch screen with 8.1. Any ideas on this; how can I run my computer and baby monitor at the same time?
