Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon. When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc. I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals. My applicable system specs are as follows;
Lenovo Y510P Laptop
Windows 8.1 Pro
Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230
Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware
Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1 I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

Every who is having issues seems to only have issues with a single network.
If anyone is still having issues hit Windows + W type command prompt and select it from the list. In that window type ipconfig and find your wireless adapter config info and make sure you have an IP assigned and a gateway.
If you do but have limited connection go to your router settings and find the table that has all the IP assigned to each device on the network. See if they match and let me know. Remove all the entries with your device name and/or MAC address from the table.
Then disconnect from the network with your PC and reconnect to the same network. Refresh the IP table and check what the IP assigned to your PC is. Go back to the CMD window and type ipconfig hit enter (or hit the up arrow key to get the last command and hit enter) make sure the IP assigned to you in the table is the same as the one your computer has and check if the gateway changed.
Try the internet and see if you have the same issue.
If you do type the gateway in the address bar in IE to see if you can get to your router. If you can...
Open 2 other command prompt windows and type ping -t 127.0.0.1 and hit enter then for the second type ping -t YOUR GATEWAY IPto see if they fail to respond at the same time or if just one does.
If they don't fail open two more and in one type ping -t www.microsoft.com in the other type ping -t 8.8.8.8 hit enter in each window after you typed it. Run it for a while to see if any out of the 4 fail. When you get a fail, if you do, go to the ipconfig CMD window and type ipconfig hit enter and see if you have the same IP assigned and gateway.
Let me know what happens
That is not a single issue support. That is for an extended support contract. A lot of people here have different issues but are using a single thread. Its hard to fix different networking issues as a group
Then there is an issue with the wireless signal or behind that. Since connecting another wireless network to the same wireless adapter works its not the computer. Networking is complex. Start another thread and post the link in a reply here I bet we can get you online with both or at the least determine if the router is bad. While the error may be limited connection there could be hundreds of reasons why. Limited connection means you can connect to a network but the network can't connect to the internet.
This is an incredible issue as its effecting so many users. I have the same unstable connection issues as many users have detailed..
I've noticed that when using IE11 on Windows 8.1 and the pages don't load due to unavailable connection my Antivirus is easily downloading its updates. I also noticed that the ustable connection occurs very often when I use my dlink 2740b router but never happens when I connect using my mobile phones hotspot connection.
