Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    disabling 802.11 solved and worked for me too

    Try:

    ipconfig/all

    via the Command Prompt as Admin as it does sort maters out once a day or so; so far for the past 1 week.

    I have the problem with my wifi as well. With windows 8 I had issues with wifi not remembering any of my passwords, now I have no wifi. The wifi does not detect any networks even if the router or hotspot is 1 meter away. I have restarted the machine but to no avail.

    This is frustrating, windows 8 is the worst OS ever.

    Hi this issue is the straw that breaks the Windows 8 back for me. I've used MS products since I was at university in the mid-80s, and now I will be shutting down my windows laptop for the last time. 7 was a good O/S. 8 has too much wrong with it, and now I get about 10 minutes connection time before this kicks in. Needless to say all other devices in the house stay connected just fine. I recently bought a decent spec HP laptop, Core i5 3rd gen, 8GB  with a Broadcomm 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi Adapter according to the device manager, and for me it should work out of the box. I haven't got time to reinstall drivers and stuff. (The disconnect just happened again now while typing this). The amount of connection time I get when I reconnect is shorter than most tasks that require access to the internet. So this environment is basically useless, it reminds me of the dial-up era when you prayed the connection lasted long enough to send the odd email. My MacBook Air I bought 3 years ago has never missed a beat. So I am getting a MB Pro to replace this PC, if anyone wants an HP Pavilion relatively new let me know ! Good luck fixing this issue, I'm out !

    Solution:

    Change the SSID name of your network. worked for me =)
