Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    Will this really work and is it going to cost me to install Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.  I'm going to check my driver for my netgear, could that be the problem.

    Hi that is exactly what I did because of this issue. I don't have time to do all this installing of drivers etc and in reading the comments it doesn't work all the time anyway. I now use a macbook pro for business it is very solid always connected I use office365 which works fine on OSX and skydrive is integrated into the filesystem. So the bits of MS which work well - the cloud bits - are completely fine with Mac. The only windows device I now use regularly is my Nokia Lumia which is a great phone. So i'm by no means anti Microsoft, I just can't use Win8.x as a production system for my business because of this connectivity issue. So I switched and so far so good. For a tablet I use a Galaxy Note 10.1 - which I personally think is a stunning bit of kit so i'm not an Apple groupie either. Horses for courses now for me.

    Yes, I agree I'm in College and I have many online classes.  I think that stupid Microsoft should provide a free downgrade to Windows 7.  If I knew I was going to have so many problems with my wifi I would have ordered a dam Dell with Windows 7. 

    There are people that have posted regarding Microcrap and no-one can seem to give me the right suggestion to fix my WIFI.Take Care

    Mine seems to stop disconnecting from the wifi; is been a couple of days and been not having disconnection problem. 

    I haven't change any thing on the driver, except trying to let all the updates to occurred completely, then look for updates on the network device drivers. Again all simply asking Windows to search for the update and install it. At one point I remove the wifi network application something, I forgotten what it was, there are two of them one for blue tooth and one for wifi, only the wifi one was removed. But later it was back Austini think though one of the automatic updates.

    Then suddenly all okay.

    Either oneof the fix or a combination or things. Not sure.
