Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

    I have a similar connectivity issue on my Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus running Windows 8.1. 

    My Wi-Fi connection slows down considerably to under 3Mbps from around 50 Mbps that I have.

    As many other folks already mentioned, I do have several other devices in my network where this problem doesn't occur (IPad, Win7 system etc.).

    After rebooting the my laptop, everything goes back to the normal (50 Mbps).

    Thing is that running release/renew IP won't help.

    Definitely this is a Windows 8.1/8.0 issue/bug that needs to be fixed by the Microsoft folks.

    Try turning Bluetooth off.

    but even that it got less worse, it still drop me.. of course it reconnect, but not good.. hopefully it get better...

    Same laptop same problem

    if i restart the router i get internet for a couple days, but then it stops and wont recognize the wifi. This laptop is also brand new and its **** me off that its not working because this laptop was a replacement for my dear laptop that got stolen from me. So i would like an explaination that makes sense from microsoft ... like the guy earlier said , all our routers can't be the issue.

    Probably because everybody wants to avoid to reinstall all the stuff once again.. like me.. :P For example on my G750JX the Auto Detect doesn't work.. It roll and roll, but never end.. so in the end you need to grep all your drivers manually and update them, but the worse is coming.. all the games, losing all the saves..
