Windows 8.1: WiFi dropping and/or "Limited"

I have the same ****.. Asus G750 with Atheros chipset latest .274 driver and it drops me from my router. 3 smartphones and other devices connected without issues, but win8.1 drops me after loading more traffic.. Fix the fxxk MS..

I have had mine off all the time. So I should not have a problem, but I have. So there is more to this problem I guess. Not one other clear solution than to get a proper fix. And that has to be done by MS og by many producers of equipment. It was not a problem before so MS should roll back something that was working before and also roll back the simple solution to find and use various Wifi connections.

If you guys try going to Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network Connections, right click wifi, click properties, then click configure, click on the power management tab, and uncheck the box that says, allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

I don't even have that option.

Since installing 8.1 Pro, I'm having issues with WiFi dropping internet connectivity and always showing "Limited" when clicking on the system tray icon.  When I troubleshoot the problem using the system tool it is always the gateway that is faulty.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the device drivers several times, installed the newest drivers directly from Intel, restarted the computer, etc.  I can restore connectivity by turning WiFi off then back on, but the connection will drop at what seems to be random intervals.  My applicable system specs are as follows;

Lenovo Y510P  Laptop

Windows 8.1 Pro

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Apple Time Capsule router w/newest firmware

Needless to say this is quite an irritating bug that didn't exist prior to the update to 8.1  I hope this can be resolved quickly. Thanks!

Hi, i had problems with it as well with my new Samsung ATIV Book 6, just came out of the box, but immediately have problem with the WiFi. i tried all sort of things on the internet to fix it, editing registry something about the home group, .. anyway i forgot i tried 3 to 4 types of solutions offered online.

but eventually what works for me is just run all the updates, and really ALL of them including the optional ones. now my notebook is okay without ever having problem with WiFi anymore.

however, when i was updating, it was a painful process since the WiFi it self keep dropping, and there are many times when Win decided to reverted back since it FAIL to install the update.

I ended up installing the updates every 300MB on the critical update first for the windows update, then i stuck in one of the update, i then update the optional updates, there was 1, but then 3 more appear after the first update. then suddenly things just became stable and i run the rest of the windows update and all is updated now and no more problem.
